This time, Abhay Gupta, who’s student at SRCC and has had tremendous journey from being a Director at IFSA SRCC to doing internship in an AI based startup even after being from a commerce background, made appearance to share his learnings.

1. You are working with a startup in the AI domain, so how much value do you believe it adds to work with startups in such dynamic fields?

I believe it adds great value to a person. Coming from a commerce background, I still had the opportunity to see and experience how the tech side of things works. It also helped me develop the belief and confidence that anyone can learn anything, regardless of their background.

2. What things surprised you when you first started your internship?

The fact that, in only the first or second week of starting my internship, the founder included me in their main ongoing project and gave me genuinely important work that will have an impact on them. So, the level of trust and responsibility I received at the beginning of my internship came as a surprise.

3. How do you think people can make the most of their internships?

Go above and beyond what is asked of you and show enthusiasm for the project and the company. Always approach your assigned tasks with the intention of impressing your supervisor, not just delivering satisfactory results. You will learn much more in the process, and by showing interest, you may receive additional responsibilities, making your internship experience even more dynamic and valuable.t.
