Feeling Unproductive 😔........Ultimate Productivity Hacks Revealed

Hola folks! Lovely Saturday to you all. Well seems like this is the most happening part of the year especially for the students and early professionals. Lots of chatters, lots of confusion about what to do.

This week we turn our attention a bit more towards productivity and planning to help you out with organizing your thoughts and having plan of action.

Jumbled Thoughts 😔 …Naaaa: Xmind Copilot Got It All Organized

Ever struggled with streamlining and structuring your thoughts in an organized way? Well, I bet we all have been there, unless you a starfish then you are excused, and I can vouch for all that no one likes to be in this situation. But well, hard reality being spoken, we can’t help it. With so much information out there, it’s natural to feel a little lost but what if AI jumps into the scene.

What the heck is Mind Mapping?: Mind mapping is like the GPS for your brain, a navigational tool that helps you chart the uncharted waters of your thoughts. It's a visual technique that transforms the chaotic jumble of ideas in your mind into a structured, interconnected network, like a roadmap to your own creativity. By creating a mind map, you're essentially turning your brainstorming session into an organized mind adventure, with key concepts and ideas branching out like roads leading to exciting destinations. The importance of mind mapping lies in its ability to foster creativity, enhance memory retention, and streamline problem-solving.

Xmind Copilot: Xmind is a mind mapping tool that helps you organize your thoughts similar to Miro board. What makes it special and unique is its recent Xmind.ai feature that uses the capabilities of AI to help you think, ideate, organize and create mind maps.

ChatGPT Vs Xmind Copilot: Though GPT is undoubtedly a powerful model, it could still slip up and deliver false information. Articles generated by GPT usually need some polishing in terms of coherence and consistency. They may also appear to be pretty bland, due to the innate constraints of the AI training data.

Use Cases: Xmind Copilot can come handy to you if you are stuck at an idea and can’t think. It’s One Liner feature let’s you put a topic and uses AI to generate a mind map that you can refer as a starting point. It also has a Ghostwriter feature that turns your mind map into a full-fledged article. This could especially be helpful for students to summarize and study huge articles, research papers and even notes as its Outliner feature can summarize the information in the form of a mind map.

This time we have Sakshi Thakkar with us, an SRCC student whose journey is nothing short of remarkable. From active roles in major college societies to securing an impressive Product Role, Sakshi's path has been defined by her passion for both campus life and professional growth. Notably, she's also delved into the impact side of things, serving as a research associate at CDF India.

1. What things came as a surprise to you when you first started your internship?

Specifically this internship which is with a startup, the dynamic nature of the workload took me by surprise. There were phases of high activity, where deadlines were pressing followed by quieter periods with minimal assignments. Adapting to these fluctuations required flexibility and the ability to swiftly transition between a high octane work mode and a more relaxed, preparatory phase. This aspect of internship experience was a valuable lesson in time management and versatility.

2. How do you think people looking for internships can maximize their chances of getting one?

I believe that patience and consistency are the cornerstones of a successful internship search. It can be laborious, marked by numerous attempts and at times, prolonged periods of waiting for responses. When I reflect on my own journey, I recall reaching out to potential opportunities and not receiving immediate replies. It’s crucial to maintain perseverance, considering that luck is simply an intersection of preparation and opportunity. So yes, consistently applying for opportunities until you finally secure an internship is important.

I suggest reaching out three times to a particular lead, allowing approximately 5-7 days between each attempt. This approach strikes a balance demonstrating genuine interst and not being overly persistent. Consistency in follow-up efforts portrays dedication and enthusiasm, traits highly valued by recruiters.

3. What are somethings you wish you had known before starting an internship?

In retrospect, there are a few insights I wish I had possessed before embarking on my internship journey. Understanding that recruiters often accommodate interns who are pursuing full time courses would have been advantageous. Effectively communicating my availability and any schedule constraints with clarity and reasons for the same is a practice I now recognize as important. Moreover, recognizing the freedom to openly express concerns and raise queries ensures a good working experience.
